∆ update

It’s been a hectic couple of months, and to say the least, I never knew I would be able to learn and do as much as I did in a full semester, let alone 2 months. But now I’m taking a short pause between all the activity and let the information sink in. Just what did I do, and how much I did; I need to at least commit those events into memories (just thought of a using a malloc joke, but I’m just too tired). So here’s a rundown of the several stuff I did:

1) Actually did some work: I can’t believe I’m even saying this, but I actually did work in my own leisure time. That, to me, is a pretty incredible feat, knowing my innate tendency to procrastinate in humungous proportions. What got me really surprise is the fact that I’m starting this consistent routine of self-study, where I (force myself to) take an active learning approach of learning uni stuff and whatnot. Deep learning was known to help critically and analytically understand a topic holistically, so I’m quite proud that I managed to pull it off :D

2) Learnt some 1337 SP33K: After all these years, I’ve been waiting for the day where I can finally say this: I learnt some hackery! Muahahaha! Yes, n00bs, I shall obtain complete access to your computer! <— …Ok, obnoxious much?
But I really did learn some security exploits which are, technically speaking, forms of hacking. No, that does not mean hacking banks and stuff, but simple php websites, or sites which are vulnerable to sql injection and cross-site scripting, those are pretty cool stuff to work on. And that also means I’m now a full-fledged nerd 8-)
[sql injection was the hacking method lolsec used to hack sony, apparently..]
(And no, I still suck at programming. I’ve still got a looong way to go)

3) Networking with lots of people: And I mean, lots. I’ve always seen myself not to be a social extrovert who could easily make friends with the guy in the bus. But all the socialising with the westerns kinda have their super-social traits rubbing on me. Which is a good thing, since I wanted to know more ways to make more friends (or at least, get to know them). I’m in no way an expert in people skills yet, but I’m starting to get a bit better. [You know you’re getting better when you could walk down the main walkway and say hi to at least 3 people every time :D]

4) Cook: I cooked! Without blowing up and burning the place! And no one suffered from food poisoning! Yay!

5) Learning languages: Before I start this, I should say that when I was younger, I was this precocious little brat who thought he knew too much. I never thought language was important, and I had little interest in it. Now, ironically, I find learning different languages very interesting, and now I find myself immensely indulging myself to new languages everyday (which, of course, includes mathematical notations and comp stuff :p)

6) Finding various part-time jobs: In my quest for moneyz, I’ve been trying to find out information on tutoring primary students and other things I could do. Luckily, I was introduced by my friend on making iPhone themes and apps. Turns out, you could make quite a deal from just those, as he got enough to buy an iPad2 and a DSLR, only from selling themes. This, for a uni student’s perspective, seems like a very appealing sort of work, and I’ll try to do some stuff with that in the recent future (once I get my uni work back on track again :p)

7) Music playlists: I got in a recent habit of creating monthly playlist on dropbox where I share the music with my friends. Since I liked the idea so much (not sure if my friends did thou..), I’ll try and start posting the playlist here on my blog, and there you guys and comment on them :D

8) Walking: I walked. And walked. And walked. ‘Nuff said.

Its been quite the busy month. I’ve probably done some other stuff as well, from helping the creation of the ppia unsw website, and made cupcakes, but there’s too many to name, and its too late already. I’ll try to have more regular updates so there isn’t any need for a gigantic wall of text as a post. So anyways, thats all for now. Until next time folks! Leslie out.
